Here, among breathtaking landscapes and age-old traditions, a cured meat is born that embodies history, nature, and culture. The bond between product and territory is so strong that one is indistinguishable from the other.
The Province of Sondrio, in the Lombardy Alps, is the only place in the world where Bresaola della Valtellina PGI is made. Its two main valleys, Valtellina and Valchiavenna, offer an extraordinary microclimate: the pure air descending from the high Alpine peaks combines with the Breva—a mild breeze rising from Lake Como—creating ideal conditions for the slow, gradual curing of this unique product.
In Valtellina, everything speaks the language of Bresaola. Nature, culture, history, and gastronomy intertwine to create something far more than just a cured meat—it’s a rich story of authenticity.
To tell the story of the deep connection between Bresaola della Valtellina PGI and its homeland, the campaign #DestinationBresaola was created. It offers immersive local experiences for both Italian and international visitors choosing Valtellina as a travel destination—through food, nature, and culture, all experienced like a local.
Fourth and fifth editions (2024–2025): titled “Hidden Valtellina” Summer & Winter Editions—18 secret spots loved by locals, to be discovered through the five senses, with audio guides and local tastings at Bresaola Experience Points.
Third edition (2023): focused on cycling tourism—10 bike routes through the valleys and 10 “Ristobike” stops for a flavorful break featuring Bresaola della Valtellina PGI.
Second edition (2022): launched “on-the-go” snacks with Bresaola della Valtellina PGI—picnic-style meals inspired by nostalgic dishes.
First edition (2021): dedicated to trekking—10 nature trails and 10 unique sandwiches for all tastes and hiking levels. Downloadable guide box.
